As we prepare for another trip abroad, we thought we would take a look back at one of the trips from the past, only this time, including material that did not make it into the original posts, such as photos we did not have space to use before.  We start with a trip we took in the autumn of 2015.   Our first stop was Milan, and, as usual, we booked ourselves a small apartment, for the duration of our stay.  The place was tiny, but functional, and the price was right, meaning that it was not a lot of money for what we got.  I probably would not stay there now, but at the time, it was fine.

After getting settled, it was time to head out, and explore the neighborhood a bit.

Just around the corner from the apartment, you could find the Museo Branca, which is historically where the amaro, Fernet-Branca, was made and bottled.  We have not yet had a chance to visit the museum, but it is something we plan to do in the future.

Milan, as a city, is a wonderful mixture of old and new, which becomes immediately evident when you begin to explore.

The building, in the photo below, is the home of a popular music venue and nightclub, called “Alcatraz.”  We would have a chance to attend a concert there, eight years later.

It is always fun, to run into a street market!
