At Via Tiro a Segno, #3,  you will find the Porta Romana.  Built in 1100, it was one of the five city gates that originally led into the center of town.  Today, it is the only one left standing.

The Società Operaia di Mutuo Soccorso was founded in 1872.  It has served the community since that time.  The society was responsible for the founding of the first library in the city, in 1881, when they asked each citizen to donate one or more texts.
