Rome – Day 9 – Part 4 – A Fun End To A Great Stay

on

Though beautiful, the Chiesa di San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane is small.  To visit the actual body of the church will only take a few minutes of your time.  But, do not miss the other spaces that make up the complex, for these are also worth seeing.

A door to the right of the high altar leads to a corridor which in turn takes you to the cloister, off to the right.  This is a truly beautiful space!

The same door to the right of the high altar, in the church proper, will also provide you with access to the crypt.  Just turn left and then left again, go through the old sacristy, and down the small spiral staircase.

After a brief rest at the apartment, we headed out for our last evening in Rome.  Our first stop was a cafe for a quick drink in the Monti area.

Sometimes the only pick-me-up needed is an Aperol spritz!

We then made our way over to Trastevere to say goodbye to some friends at Big Hilda’s Public Bar, and after that, headed out for dinner.

For our last dinner in Rome we went to a place called Popi Popi.  The restaurant was recommended to us for their Trippa alla Romana, or Roman style Tripe.  Of course, we ordered that, some bracciole, and to start, an order of truffle fried potatoes, which were out of this world.  Naturally, wine was included, along with dessert later, and after dinner drinks.

Coming Up: We head to our last destination for the this trip – the town of Omegna.
